Job Title: Prosthetic Technician

Salary: £22,000 - £32,000

Alecto Recruitment are currently looking for a Prosthetic Technician with Previous or current experience within the industry.

Company

Our client are a leading supplier and Engineering company within the Prosthetics industry and are currently on the lookout for an experienced Prosthetic Technician. The Prosthetic technician's main role is to manufacture prosthetic limbs or devices as prescribed by a qualified Prosthetist. The prosthetic technician is guided by a measurement sheet, body cast, body tracing or job card supplied by the HCPC Registered Prosthetist but will be required to provided engineered solutions to match clinical requirement

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the role are:

* Work within workshop environment to maximise quality in manufacturing techniques
* Mange production efficiency to maximise completed jobs through workshop
* Translate Prosthetist Clinical requirement into manufactured solutions, often involving problem resolution
* Develop & test new manufacturing approaches to improve efficiency and productivity
* Provide bespoke construction ideas to satisfy unique amputee adaptation requirement, including preparing sketches, test pieces, specifying materials to be used, construction techniques and finishes
* Order parts and returns when required
* Manufacture prosthetic products - plaster, laminate, drapes, assembly
* Upper extremity prosthetics
* Adjustment of sockets and alignment
* Cosmesis preparation, including shaping with patients
* Liaise with manufacturers
* Maintenance of accurate records and parts tracking sheets
* Maintain up to date knowledge of components
* Responsible for quality control
* Prioritisation of waiters and repairs
* Record in PPS patient contact and telephone calls

Candidate

* Minimum Three years experience as a prosthetic technician
* Have experience working with silicone
* Basic computer skills
* Practical dexterity
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Positive, helpful and caring attitude towards clients, colleagues and patients.
* Flexible, punctual, good communication skills and presentable
