**About the role**
We have an exciting opportunity to strengthen our Business Development Team and we are looking to fill the full time position of Manager at Windrush Court, Oxford.
**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
Basic purpose of the position: To coordinate scientific licensing activities, including in-licensing new technology and out-licensing OXB technology. Additional business development responsibilities as necessary
**The successful candidate will have:**
* Identify and negotiate new licensing agreements focussing on in-licensing of new technologies to OXB or out-licensing of our technologies to third parties
* Lead licensing negotiations with prospective partners for R&D collaborations
* Seek and sign up licensing deals for OXB manufacturing related technologies (i.e. TRiP, stable producer cell lines)
**Know-How**
* Experience in scientific licensing within Pharma & Biotech
* Strong track-record in converting contacts to new business relationships
* Expertise in the economics of licensing patents and technologies
* Knowledge of the cell & gene therapy field
**Innovation**
* Identification of potential partners where OXB technologies might solve key customer issues
* Development of creative business structures which might enable long term partnerships to succeed
* Identification of promising scientific solutions to key challenges for OXB
**Leadership & Teamwork**
* Close collaboration with Head of Business Development, other BD colleagues, Client Project Managers and technical leadership team at OXB
* Close collaboration with Head of Business Development to agree overall financial goals and boundaries of a licensing deal negotiation
* Manage the process to screen and prioritise new R&D technologies for OXB to acquire
* Coordination with IP & Contracts Team for drawing up of associated legal agreements
**Required Education & Knowledge**
* Scientific degree at Batchelor level or a business degree with 3+ years commercial experience in life sciences
* Industry knowledge of intellectual property, licensing norms within Pharma & biotech and structuring of R&D collaborations
* General understanding of the cell and gene therapy sectors
* Knowledge of the cell & gene therapy field
**Required Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes**
* Ability to define, structure and negotiate external projects and manage the diligence process
* Build up an industry competitive commercial expertise in the cell & gene therapy sector for OXB
* Convincing presentation style and engaging with potential clients
* Willingness to travel to conferences on a regular basis
