We have a part time vacancy for a Brain Injury Support Worker to support a gentleman of 50 who has complex physical and cognitive difficulties following a road traffic accident. This gentleman lives in his own home in Coventry with 24 hour support.

As his Brain Injury Support Worker, you will mainly work on a one-to-one with him but will be closely monitored and supported by his brain injury case manager. The role may also involve regular joint working with any therapists involved with the client.

Our client has been tremendously motivated to work at his rehabilitation, and enjoys learning new things and accepts challenges.

The successful Brain Injury Support Worker will be able to continue to motivate and encourage him to reach his goals. They will also be able to work well within the client's home, having respect for his privacy and dignity.

Our client is interested in having support to assist him with:

* Attending G.P, hospital and therapy sessions.
* Managing and administration of medication, including administering, documentation, ordering etc.
* Monitoring and promotion of health and well being, both physically and mentally.
* Prompting, and supporting with personal care as necessary.
* Expanding his social and leisure opportunities.
* Shopping and accessing other community amenities. Visiting family and friends.
* Undertaking domestic chores.
* Working alongside his team and case manager.
* Planning, and organising.
* Maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

The rota is a four week rolling rota, working long days followed by a sleep in shift totalling 24 hours, and some 2:1 daytime cover. You will also be expected to attend regular training and supervision.

A full driving licence and experience in health or social care essential, ideally with brain injured clients, experience of working with clients who can exhibit challenging behaviour would be advantageous. Full training and supervision is provided. £11.50 per hour weekdays, £13.50 at weekends, £70 per sleep in.
