**CARER/FAMILY SUPPORT WORKERS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE CARE AND SUPPORT FOR CHILD IN CATFORD, LONDON**

Proactive, professional, experienced, creative and caring family support workers required to join our care team caring for a disabled little boy.

**Essential Experience:** Supporting a child with severe physical disabilities and complex medical needs.

**Start Date:** ASAP

**Days and Hours:** Hours vary from term time and holidays. Permanent and Bank contracts available.

Mon- Fri: 0600- 0900

Mon- Tues term time: 1530-2000 school holidays 0900-2000

Sat/ Sun day: 0800-2000

Night Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun- 2000- 0800 (+ 1 hr Monday and Friday am)

In addition to the above hours, additional hours are frequently available to be covered on an as required basis and during school holidays

We are looking for family support workers to join our team and care for a very smiley, happy and content 7-year-old little boy who is the heart of a very warm, loving and friendly family. The little boy has total body dystonia with underlying hypertonia affecting all four limbs and his trunk, is predominantly non-verbal and has significant complex medical needs. He is able to eat and drink a thickened pureed diet with full support and he very much enjoys his mothers cooking! He requires 2:1 care throughout his day and enjoys sensory play, listening to music, watching his favourite television programmes, outside walks and activities in his wheelchair, messy play and time spent with his mother and older brothers who are very much involved in his life.

The family support workers are responsible for caring for and tending to all of the little boys needs including but not limited to personal care, feeding and administering medication, implementing his stretching and therapies programmes and manual handling including hoisting. You will be confident in communicating, engaging with and stimulating the little boy, creating new activities for him to enjoy and very much involving him in everything you do.

The family live in a partially adapted house and there are domestic duties relating to the little boys equipment, such as cleaning and checking equipment and undertaking laundry on his behalf. The family are looking for experienced family support workers who are practical, caring and have the ability to work on their own initiative within a busy and active family home.

Experience or knowledge of working with children with complex health needs and disabilities is desirable. However, full bespoke training will be provided.

Qualifications in childcare, teaching or nursing are desirable but not essential.

You would need to be totally reliable.

A full, clean driving licence is desirable.

Enhanced DBS check will be pursued.

Rates of pay:

* Monday Friday £12.00 per hour
* Saturday & Sunday £14.00 per hour
* Nights paid per night: Monday-Thursday £108.00 Friday and Sunday £112.00 Saturday £116.00
