We are currently recruiting for Area Supervisor for one of our clients based in Shefford.
The role is spending 75% or more of your time directing and coaching staff on the shop floor. when you are off the shop flooryou will focus on ensuring the key measures are up-to-date and displayed, performing analysis to drive improvement and working with the planner to ensure correct manning levels and product scheduling.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Enforce correct line start times and manning levels, as agreed in the planning meeting and monitor clocking times within the time and attendance system
* Demonstrate an understanding of measures and how they can be influenced
* Ownership of daily performance of the garlic production area, including line efficiencies, giveaway, waste losses and labour efficiency
* Control of labour hours worked and number of staff on each shift, for salaried workers, overtime and agency
* Drive of short interval control on the shop floor
* Responsible for the line leaders to complete all paperwork for quality control and efficiency recording
* Promote and establish a zero tolerance waste culture
* Correct scheduling of products to maximise efficiencies, by working closely with the planner
* Analysis of the performance on the last shift in preparation for the daily improvement meetings
* Update and control an improvement action board
* Run a daily meeting on the shop floor, with the line leaders, determining the top issues, creating specific targets and reviewing performance, to drive a continuous improvement culture
* Report on key measures and improvement actions/projects at daily production meeting (off the shop floor)
* Mentoring, encouraging and praising operators to improve how they do their job, developing skills and knowledge levels
* Immediately and constructively feeding back to your operator/operators when they do not perform their job to the desired standard. Following through with disciplinary action if necessary
* Run to all appropriate Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Control Points. Actively partake in updating and improving this documentation as needed
* Job rotation of staff to ensure health and safety requirements are met. Actively work with the QA operator to improve quality and agree a reasonable standard of any rejected products
